Surveys, Scripts & Voter Data

A voter file you can actually work with, and universes that stay current as results come in.

The Pieces

From the doorstep to the next program

What canvassers see at the door, and what you do with it after.

Branching Scripts

The script follows the voter’s answers, so canvassers aren’t improvising.

  • Conditional question flow
  • Reusable questions across programs
  • Multiple choice, ratings, short answer
  • Volunteer recruitment asks built in

The Voter File

Search, filter, and tag the file however your program slices its universe.

  • Geography, party, turnout history
  • Contact status and history per household
  • Campaign-specific tags
  • Attempts tracked automatically

Dynamic Lists

Build a universe once, and nobody rebuilds lists by hand between passes.

  • Persuasion, GOTV, re-engagement universes
  • Lists built from canvass results
  • Refreshes without rebuilding
  • Exports for mail, media, or the next pass
The survey builder: a question list with multiple choice and text blocks on the left, answer options, script text, and branching rules on the right
Questions, answer options, the door script, and the branching rules that connect them, all in one builder.
A household card in the canvasser app listing its registered voters with party registration and age
The household, straight from the voter file.
A survey question in the canvasser app with the door script shown above the answer choices
The script travels with the question.
The review step in the canvasser app: voters surveyed, statuses for other household members, and optional notes before submitting
Reviewed and submitted before the canvasser walks on.
Suppression

Who not to knock

Do-not-contact requests, refusals, moved, deceased, wrong address. TouchStone takes them out of rotation automatically.

Admins can see why any voter was suppressed and how the record got there.

The result is cleaner universes and targeting you can defend, handled by the same data integrity systems that check the knocks.

The canvasser app recording a status for each household member who was not surveyed
Statuses recorded at the door, for everyone in the household.
The disposition library in campaign settings: each status with its contact and attempt counting rules and whether it feeds the global suppression list
You decide what each status means: what counts as a contact, what counts as an attempt, and what goes on the suppression list.

See the scripts and the data together

We’ll build a script, walk a test door, and show you the results landing in your universes live.
